What is your favorite part of PrideFest?

"I think the name PrideFest denotes something that the actual event does not. It should be called Gay Carnivale or Mardi Gras or something. I don't think pride equals being out in peoples' faces, it means doing something to better ourselves and humanity. To me PrideFest is a time to reflect on how we can better contribute to society as a whole." - Scott

We are always looking for ways to make Pride politically relevant, and I am thrilled this year about out Grand Marshal, Donna Rose, and acknowledging her work.
Unfortunately, our political rally is never a strongly attended portion of the festival. While we have tried to do educational components in the past, they have never done very well.
I think that Pride is a time for our community to get some well-earned R and R. As GLBT individuals we fight every minute of every day for our rights. Many enjoy this as a time to celebrate what we have done and the gains we've won throughout the year.
